Getting to Port of Spain.
Everything you need to plan the trip — venue, flights, where to stay, entry requirements, registration, and travel support. Some details are still being finalized and are marked to be announced; this page will be updated as they're confirmed.
Venue & dates.
When
October 28–31, 2026 (Wednesday–Saturday). Opening on the 28th, papers on the 29th–30th, and a field day on the 31st.
Where
Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago — the capital, near Piarco International Airport. The Saturday field day travels south to La Brea Pitch Lake, the world's largest natural asphalt deposit and the conference's namesake substrate.
Host
Hosted by the Caribbean Emergence Institute with Anime Caribe as Trinidad partner. Sessions and the field-day program are organized on-site.
Getting there.

Fly into Piarco International Airport (POS)
Trinidad's main airport, near Port of Spain, with connections via Miami, New York, Toronto, London, Panama City, and regional Caribbean hubs.

Reach Port of Spain (~30 minutes)
Piarco is roughly 30 minutes by road from Port of Spain. Conference ground transfers between the airport, hotels, and the venue are being arranged — details to be announced. The Saturday field day travels ~90 minutes south to La Brea Pitch Lake; transport is provided.

Getting around
Car hire and pre-arranged taxis are the most reliable options outside the transfer windows. We'll publish recommended providers closer to the date.
Where to stay.
A room block at a partner hotel near the venue (southwest Trinidad / San Fernando area) is being arranged at a conference rate. The hotel, rate, booking link, and cut-off date are to be announced — check back, or email us to be notified when booking opens.

Visas & entry.
Many nationalities can enter Trinidad & Tobago visa-free for short stays, but requirements vary — please check the rules for your passport well in advance and apply early if a visa is needed. A valid passport and onward/return travel are typically required.

Registration details and fees are to be announced. The conference is open access — proceedings and reviews are public on the repository regardless of attendance.
